The upside is closed-cell, which means it is easy to clean the mat and it does not absorb water, microbes or fungi. The topside is very hard-wearing and has an non-slip seagrass texture of natural rubber. The bottom side gives grip to the bottom serves for cushioning.

The Manduka mat is comparable to the "Jade" yoga mat, beside one single difference: The Manduka mat surpasses our comparison example with the fact that it is much more long-lasting.

Care instructions: All EKO series mats can be cleaned by wiping down the mat with Manduka’s Natural Rubber Mat Restore (a vinegar based solution) or a 50/50 mixture of water and organic apple cider vinegar. It is recommended that you DO NOT put your EKO mat in the washing machine, as it will encourage the material to break down. DO NOT soak or submerge in water and DO NOT use any type of soap for cleaning, as it will compromise the performance and integrity of the mat.
