The effluent resin of the tropical, evergreen Benzoe tree is called benzoin. By cutting the up to 20 meter high Benzoe tree and curing in the air, the resin is obtained. Benzoin is used in pharmacy and dentistry as a tincture, in perfumery, food flavoring and as a fragrant incense.
