Ganesha is reputed to remove all obstacles in the way and is therefore called by all sorts of undertakings. This is why he is called "Lord Of All Obstacles", too.
There is barely a deity that has so many stories told about as Ganesha. He is the son of Shiva and Parvatis and symbolizes wisdom and success. Ganesha is classified as a representation of the cosmical OM.
