The Shakti Mat Light was developed as an alternative for beginners who want to have a softer treatment. The Shakti Mat Light has over 8000 needlepoints compared to the 6000 of a regular Shakti Mat. The bodyweight lays therefore on more needlepoints and the effect will be less.
Usage:
Put the Shakti Mat on a bed or any other soft base. A pillow or a rolled towel can be used optimally as a neck support. Lay in a comfortable position on the Shakti mat so that the needlepoints keep having contact with the naked skin. Relax and breathe deeply. If you have some very sensible skin, try it with a thin towel between skin and Shakti mat in the beginning of your regular usage. However, this will mitigate the effect of your treatment. In the beginning, a length of treatment of 10 to 15 minutes suffices. Later, length of treatment can gradually be increased up to 20 to 40 minutes. There is no danger of laying or even sleeping on the mat for considerable time.
Use the Shakti mat whenever you feel like doing so or whenever you have some time, ideally daily if possible. Just like at physical training, daily practice is recommended to obtain existing results.
How does the Shakti Mat work?
The surface is covered with numerous plastic rings which again have small peaks of just a few millimetres. Altogether, more than 8000 needlepoints stimulate the body’s own sensational probe. Through the medulla, impulses are sent to the brain where hormones are liberated. This way, the nervous system as well as muscles can relax.
For this reason the Shakti mat is an acceptable prop when having pain in the limbs or rigidity on the back or cervix.
The Shakti Mat offers following benefits:
• Deep relaxation
• Pain relief
• Stress alleviation
• Promotion of the metabolism
• Anti-inflammatory
Dimensions: 78cm x 42cm
